Re: I ordered the TT silicone baking boards.

I'm really glad that they have worked well for you, Red Top!  Smiley Happy

I don't know why some of us have had the smoking, staining, and other problems.  Mine are red, also.

I tried using them in the oven a few times only at 350F.  Nothing weird - just put them on the oven rack/shelf thing.  Within a few minutes it was smoke city!   My closest smoke alarm is kind of a straight shot from the kitchen, but it's a good 40 feet away and it would start going off pretty quickly.  (oh man, I hate that sound!)

They are not silicone mats. They can't be cut to size. They are aluminum clad in silicone.

Only one is solid from your OP.  The perforated one just has a metal frame, which is how the old ones I bought were.  I cut them from the frame.

I just re watched the video and no where does it say the solid one is aluminum although it does look a little sturdier.

@debic

I thought they said it in the presentation. I could be wrong.

Hi all, and @chickenbutt - that sound is a disaster to my dogs

Hi all, and @chickenbutt.  That smoke alarm sound is a disaster to my dogs, and they go running.  I'm glad to know the alarms work, but a few times I have turned on my old range and had some smoking and the old hound dogs have run out the front door (which I had opened to empty the smoke).  Now I not only have a potential fire, but a big black dog (or two) lost in the darkness of night.

Nothing to do with the silicone mats, though.  Just an old gunky oven.  All I need do is open the oven door and they panic.  Makes me laugh, now.

@Sweetbay magnolia

Same here. My smoke alarm is too close to the kitchen. Anytime I use the broiler, the alarm goes off. My dog was terrified of it, so much so, that all I had to do was open the oven door and she'd hide.
