Re: I know I have more Lock and lock than I can possibly use in years, but

omg - so funny!

Here's what happens to me.  It cycles.  Sometimes I have a fridge and freezer full of L&L which makes me think, "Yikes! I need more L&L", then as I use the food I was storing in them, I find myself with a ridiculous amount of empty containers and eventually start all over again...

Hey, I don't drink, smoke or gamble.  As far as addictions go, this is one I can live with.

I know exactly what you mean......most of mine are empty now and crowded in the cupboards, because I was planning to leave town this weekend without a fridge full of food.  And then sometimes I just can't find the ones in the sizes I need, because they're all full of food.

What a problem!!

Re: I know I have more Lock and lock than I can possibly use in years, but

I recently received my first set of Lock 'n Lock in the yellow. We have used most of them for food storage, washed them in the top rack of the dishwasher and like others have said I love how they nest for easy storage. I did throw out several of my old and worn storage containers and no doubt about it-This was not my last purchase of these, I'm hooked!

Well, ladies, I know I don't post much, but please consider me another Lock and Lock Junkie.  Love the stuff.  I also ordered the TSV in copper.  I really am glad to see I am not alone!

I just purchased the most recent L&L TSV in red.  It gave me an excuse to clean my cupboards, and I donated all of my old Tupperware and Rubbermaid products.  I kept a few of the really large L&L bowls from previous purchases.  Overall, I love L&L and the square and rectangular bowls in the TSV purchase are great.

So glad you mentioned the Pyrex glass containers with the similar lids.

How do you like them compared to Lock & Lock?

I was watching Alberti on last night's show, and they featured a three-piece

glass set that looked really nice.

I have found the Pyrex a little stiff in the lid, but maybe that is just me.

I have two sets of the L & L saved in round and rectangle in glass.

@Susan in California

I like the glass containers very much.  Agree that the lids are "stiff" and harder to open and close.  They're worth the trouble to me, however, because I just can't bring myself to store certain things in plastic.

I use glass to store just about any type of prepared food that goes in the fridge or  freezer---spaghetti sauce, soups, stews, sauteed mushrooms, broth from a can that I didn't quite use up for a recipe, etc..  Anything that's very acidic, such as a cut lemon, gets refrigerated in a small glass container.

I use plastic L&L for pantry-storage and freezing or refrigerating "dry" foods.......... cheese, nuts, brown sugar, carrots, celery, lettuce, sugar, flour, opened boxes of crackers and cereal, rice and so on.

Both types of containers are pretty basic to my existence, these days......can't live without 'em.

Re: I know I have more Lock and lock than I can possibly use in years, but

I watched the cooking day and just couldn't help myself! I ordered at 11:59 pm the new zen round set.

I love the recent TSV and I've definitely gotten my $ worth from my original LNLs that were in good shape but time to be replaced.

Long ago, I bought the large salad bowl set (w/3 round nesting) and I'm so glad I've used these so many times, my other fav ones are the largest rectangular ones that I use as a sheet cake carrier, brownie, etc. -- just recently I used it to take 7layer taco dip to a block party!

Now with these new designs I'm loving they all fit in one large drawer in my pantry area.

Thank you for responding to me.  My question is-- how does Lock & Lock glass compare to Pyrex glass containers?  The stiffness I have experienced from Pyrex

does bother me.  I am willing to pay more for L & L glass, but if it is also stiff, then I might as well just stay with Pyrex.

Could you please let me know the difference?  Thank you so much.
