I was on the King Arthur site and ordered from them along with yeast and dry milk. I haven't had a bread machine since the 90's, used it a lot. I decided on this brand because of reviews here and on the web. I just got totally fed up with yucky store bought bread. Looking forward to this. Perfect size for me. If you have a favorite 1 lbs recipe , feel free to share along with your review of your Zojirushi.

I use mine when I need to just set it and let it do its thing.

A lot of sites offer ready made bread mixes, and I believe someone said the King Arthur web site does, supermarkets certainly do, and for convenience some people use them.

I prefer to make my own from scratch so I do not get preservatives and the like...but I heard these redi mix type bread mixes come in many assorted flavors, and are supposed to be tasty.

I agree! You will love it! I've had my Zojirushi for many years with no problems. I makes a great loaf of bread.

I use to use it mainly for bread but now that my kids are grown and out of the house I use it more for dough for sweet rolls and pizza. When my kids are home they still request I make bread though. I take the rolls to family functions and they are always a hit. I would like to use it more but really try to watch my carb intake. Blah! No fun!

Awhile back I asked about bread machines and everyone with a Zojirushi raved about it - so much so, I decided against a less expensive mfr. Just can't justify a "Z" it at the moment, but one of these days...

You will so love this machine. I bought one around 2 years ago and I use it every week. It is just my hubby and I now and the loaves it makes are just right for us. I googled 1 lb bread recipes and came up with more than I could ever use. Ones to search for are Grandma Meyer's white Bread..it is a plain white bread, but delicious..Iron Mike's dark rye bread....great for pastrami sandwiches and a good recipe book for 1 lb breads is Bread machine magic and more bread machine magic. I highly recommend these. Many hints and suggestions for succesful bread making in the 1 lb machines. Enjoy your new purchase!!!!

Oh Nice. I want one. I have been using a Sunbeam I have an Oster in the attic. I did not like the big round loaves it makes.

I totally agree with Bread Machine Magic recipe book. I have that. Everything I have made from it has been good. We make the hamburger/hot dog bun recipe & also make rolls with it. DH changed the oil in the recipe to 4 T of butter though & also use brown sugar instead of white sugar. I need to get the More Bread Machine Magic. I did not know there was another one. Thanks for posting that.
