I had my kitchen remodeled about 10-11 years ago - the contractor suggested no lazy susan for the corner cupboard - instead there's a shelf. I still hate it. I have all my pots and pans and plastic ware in it and it holds a lot. But it's hard to get to stuff in the back plus it's always a mess.

This is true. I can't reach the back of it now so I guess shelving would be difficult. If it had higher sides it would be ok I think. I guess I should revisit what I put on it. My daughters cups and dishes are on it now so she can reach them but they are always in the back on the bottom of the cabinet anyway!

I also hated my corner lazy susan cabinet. I redid my kitchen about 5 years ago and I found a corner cabinet that has 3 draws. LOVE IT! It holds so much and you don't lose anything.

I hated mine and pulled it out and put in shelves.

Re: I hate my corner cabinet lazy susan thing...

I have a custom built kitchen. I have two corner cabinets each with a two tiered lazy susan. There was no other option for adequate use of that space, and I was big on using every inch of space in my tiny kitchen. Its been three years and I have experienced no problem with items falling off. In fact, each have a little extra space in the side corners that I fit not often used items. Now my upper corner cabinets are my problem. I have to get on a stool to locate items stored to the sides of each of those. I'm looking for an insert for those.

I don't mind mine, guess I'm in the minority, lol! I keep all my lock n lock on there on the bottom turntable. On the top I have my hand mixer, coffee grinder, mini processor etc.

When I designed my kitchen years ago, I had one put in. I had no problem with things falling off, but I never loved it. I didn't hate it, either. But it had been suggested to me as a great thing to have, and I just never thought it was. Kiss

Re: I hate my corner cabinet lazy susan thing...

One of my corner cabinets has this and I'm not fond of it. It sounds like mine is like some others here. There is a pole down the middle but they cheaped out on the shelves, as they are just plastic semi-circle trays.

It's kind of a pain to store stuff in there because of the poor use of space so I would do it differently.

Another of my corner cabinets just has shelves. It's a HUGE cabinet. I can actually get inside there. I learned that last year when I took on the project of changing out all those stupid plastic shelf pegs that were used, for metal ones. This, after one of the plastic pegs failed one day in another cabinet. Thankfully my dishes are Fiesta so nothing broke but it was scary - a lot of heavy stuff on that shelf. At least the other corner cabinet is larger and I am able to use the space pretty well, even though the top shelf is cut out in the front.

But the one with the lazy susan thing is space not well used. I have my Corning Ware French White and Black pieces in there, a hand mixer, and a variety of other stuff. It's just kind of all crammed in there because it's difficult to keep it organized what with the rounded shelves.

Mine is ok I guess. I don't much like it but I only keep light bulbs, string etc in mine.

We call ours the Mouse Cupboard because the same cupboard type in my previous house had occasional visitors and the cat discovered he could headbutt the swing door to get in.

We love ours. I keep the canisters in there and the toaster and Kitchen Aid Mini Chopper thing and a cutting board. I've never had anything fall off the shelves. I've lovingly nicknames ours ""the twirly cabinet"".

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
