@Harpa Do you have a hall closet?  Is there room on the top shelf?  In a basket under the coats?  Woman Very HappyWoman EmbarassedWoman Surprised

Re: I Ordered Tea From England

I don't want to get hooked on tea from another source.
I'm already buying tea from Harney, Adagio and Upton Tea. Loose teas are my one indulgence.

Re: I Ordered Tea From England

I just looked at the receipt.  I ordered 8 items ranging from $5.50 to $22.  The shipping was $35.  So to me that's not bad considering how much I ordered, and coming from England in that amount of time.

And they expedited it for sure, which was a surprise to me.  That's why I make sure to order what I want, and get it all in one fell swoop from them.  And nothing in the box was dented which was good.

Fast delivery - may have a distribution center in the US.  Boats don't float very fast!

LOL

@fthunt It came by plane I know and it went through customs I think somewhere in Ohio.  I followed the tracking on it.

@Harpa I forgot to mention that neither of us like sugar or sweeteners in our tea!  We like it fairly strong (black tea mostly) and with a lot of ice in it.

Try some of your good black tea over ice sometime.  It is far better than some bitter or weak iced tea you get or most commercial tea for iced drinking.

I'm just curious...if it's sold here by amazon and Williams-Sonoma, why buy from England and pay so much in shipping?  Are there flavors there that you can't get here?

I am, in no way, a tea afficianado.  I go in spurts. I have a couple that I enjoy from Harney & Sons.  I like that the tea bags come in lidded tins.

@Bridgegal Several excellent reasons:  It was cheaper to order the tea from England.  I assume it is fresher, and also sometimes teas made for England are a slightly different mix or grade than those made for export (yes, it's true--especially with Twinnings).

I have a far greater selection and there are more decorative canisters and blends ordering from England.  And access to other neat things on their site.

Also, it apparently gets here quicker now.

Sorry, but it's virtually impossible for something in a whole other country could be delivered in 3 days! It spends several days in customs alone! They have you fooled.
