Watching gormet show today. Claxton fruitcakes, 3 1lb. per pkg, one day only price of 24.50. Sam's Club sells the same thing for 10.98.

Come on QVC.....you are ripping us off!

I'm not surprsied -  the companies like those mentioned earn much of their profit from the fees we pay upfront.

I know I pay for a Costco membership that costs me money -  or to put it another way, my membership lowers prices for other members of Costco.

Same with Amazon.

Lots of deals work against small buyers whether they buy little just because they want little or they buy little because like half of the country, they don't have all that much disposible income.

I saw them at Sam's last week. I'm pretty sure Walmart also sells the same brand, and I know the price would be close to Sam's. Hubby always buys a couple of them before the holidays, but he definitely would not spend $24.50!

@barbi50 Not my job to defend QVC - but don't forget the cost of free shipping has to be added in the price.  Fruit Cakes are heavy.

Obviously the shipping is NOT free. Even taking that into consideration, 15 dollar higher price is hard to justify. Recently I have found many other cases of higher prices..plus shipping cost. I always price check and do business elsewhere when I can save.
