@Carmie   My guess is this one-time delivery was decided by the driver.  If it had been a UPS decision, I would expect that to occur with many deliveries.

 

Where I live I can see delivery trucks from all the services.  All the drivers run once they leave their trucks, so it never looks as if any of them would be working with orders to add even an extra few seconds to any delivery,  Feels strange your fellow did.
