How do I clean cauliflower before cooking?

I will be making cauliflower "fried rice". I will be using my food processor to chop it up into very small pieces. Should I wash it before or after I use the food processor? It needs to be very dry before I stirfry. Will that be a problem?

Hi-Wash before processing. I don't know if it's the correct way or not, but I just run under water and run my hand over to shake off any visible dirt. I then cut off the green parts and stem, I kinda "core" it, and then chop off the florets.

Yep! I do not find cauliflower to be sandy or too dirty and if you're cooking at a higher temperature as opposed to eating it raw, then you're good to go.

In fact, I just bought a head a few weeks ago because I like to put it raw in my salad. I don't cook enough vegetables so, any chance I get to eat some raw veggies, I incorporate them in a salad.

Hi, Blubird, I wash veg & fruit with Basic H. In the case of cauliflower, i "soak" it whole or torn into florets in my salad spinner bowl to make sure I "dilute" at the very least, any pesticides. Then rinse & dry with paper towels if need be.
