@SeaGal , DH loves that golden mushroom soup. I think it has a tomato base. I like using it as a gravy after adding some herbs. I just don't dilute it like soup.
Campbells was on sale for awhile and I now have mountains, many of which are golden mushroom.
As a soup, I add some extra shrooms and veg and maybe some leftover pork! and you have a nice little dinner bowl. Rice is nice in there, too.

I remembered how I was schooled in cooking pork to avoid trichinosis.
I don't worry about that now. Maybe I should. Don't know.

Uh, okay, I'll take your word for it.
I really have no opinion about the subject.
I didn't comment in this thread.
I have done this with rave reviews on chicken, round steak, and cube steak.
Lightly brown the meat or not.
In a baker with lid
Add 2 cans mushroom soup plus 3/4 can water. Mix.
Add 1/2 broken up onion slices, green pepper, and rough cut fresh mushrooms as desired.
Sprinkle with garlic powder.
Cover tightly.
Bake 325 degrees 1 1/2 hrs.
Thicken gravy with corn starch if desired.
Most people love mashed potatoes or noodles with this.

Still cook for safety. Pork today is different from over 60 years ago

The dressinbg is actual dressing and the pork chop is split and it is inside. I never see the butcher to ask.

This may be a repeat. I cooked dinner at age 12 when my mother worked. My pork chops were always fork tender. Nowdays? I have to braise them for a long time in the pan or in a slow cooker.

I've never made a pork chop that came out good either! Always dry and tough- Instead I stick to pork tenderloin. They never come out tough or dry!
