Tring to create a "clean" meat" that isn't covered with gravy, I have started to fix cube steak this way.
Cube steak
2-3 bell peppers, red, yellow, green washed and cut.
I cut the pepper into 1/4 th pieces vertically which I cut in half.
1 sweet onion cut into thin slices.
Fresh sliced mushrooms.
In a sprayed frying pan, place the full slices of onion, sprayed with olive oil until browning.
Transfer to paper towel lined bowl.
Add the cut up peppers, cook until browned: add another paper towel to the bowl and add cooked peppers.
In a sprayed frying pan, add cube steak. Add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce and soy.
Cook turning until almost done.
Warm peppers in the microwave and add to the frying pan with the meat.
Delicious!

I brown the cube steaks and then put in my slow cooker with peppers, sweet onions and garlic salt, worcestershire and tomato sauce. Let it slow cook all day and serve over rice or sometimes I will serve sour dough rolls and make a sandwhich with it. Very delicious.

I fix it with onions, peppers, and mushrooms, then simmer with a can of diced tomatoes.

In this house, cube steak is browned quickly, topped with a lid and steamed till done, white gravy is made in that skillet and served with hot biscuits, fried apples or fried peaches.

I haven't made it in ages and did a similar thing in the pan with mushrooms, and soy sauce. It was so tough I couldn't chew it. I threw the other one I froze out.
Must be that meat isn't as good a quality now. I'll stick to my frozen dinners.
🥩 🦷 😖

Not over cooked, just cooked though.
Cube steak is a tough cut put through a tenderizer machine. Cube steak is meant to be cooked through. I use Worshire and a touch of soy.
I was a Home Economics teacher.

I always use lean cube steak and never get a pkg that shows gristle. Sometimes it takes several trips to find what I want.

As you can see, the vegies hold shape. I cooked them not to crunch.

Please spare me. The vegetables are overcooked no matter how you want to justify it. Look in a cookbook or Google what vegetables are suppose to look like. You are taking all the nutrients out of them.
