For those who make their own vanilla - what do you do with your beans after the vanilla is done? I've been making my own for years and feel like doing something with the beans. I know you dry them out. Suggestions. Thanks

@mare54 I leave them in the bottle.

I make a large bottle of vodka & beans. Cut & scrape the beans & put it all in the bottle.

Then I refill a small bottle for the kitchen.

I have read that you can add vodka as you use the vanilla, but I like a strong vanilla.

Let it dry out and then put the bean in white sugar--I've done that before, was wonderful!!

I dry them out and put them in with my sugar indefinetely. The longer they are in there, the more deliciously vanilla the sugar becomes. Great for baking, etc...

I know!  I was being sarcastic to the person who made that comment.  I don't like it when people tell others to "google" it.  We all know we can do that.  I agree with you that it's nice to get opinions from people on here.
