Has anyone tried "Pure Protein" Bars? Just ran across a coupon BIGIF. 20 g protein...... seems high to me, which is good. Any comments?

Re: High protein bar...........

Yes, I buy them all the time at Costco. They sell a variety pack of 18 bars (chocolate chip, chocolate fudge, and chocolate peanut butter - 6 of each). The price is right around $18 for the box. A couple of weeks ago a chain supermarket we shop had a deal on the bars so we picked out some other flavors to try. None were objectionable. IMO, the Pure Protein bars are one of the better out there because they have a better amount of protein than most and are still in the 200 calorie range (also gluten fee, if that's a concern for you). The consistency of the bar is somewhat like a candy bar. All of them are enrobed in either a chocolate or yogurt coating.

Another excellent choice would be Quest bars. They're a bit more expensive than the PP bars, around 12/$25, but we're of the belief that if you have to pay a little more for quality, then so be it. If you purchase from the Quest website (questproteinbar dot com), you can set up an auto delivery plan and save 10%. The Quest bars are available in many varieties, too. Plus they are lower calorie, low carb, sugar free, gluten free, and high protein. They also contain PREbiotics, which is supposedly even better than PRObiotics. The Quest bars are not enrobed in any kind of coating. They're a little sticky and the consistency is more similar to a tootsie roll.

Either of these are very good options when it comes to a high protein bar. I'll have one probably 5 mornings out of 7 as my breakfast. Other mornings, I'll make myself some eggs. DH eats a protein bar every morning.

I LOVE Pure Protein Bars. I LOVE them too much though. I can't buy a whole box them because I can't stay out of them.

Re: High protein bar...........

I just bought a box of three different flavors in it at Sams Club. I like them.

I like the quest bars as well. The GNC by my house lets you mix any match all flavors to mix your own box. I think with their sales its sometimes cheaper to get them from GNC versus online.
