That's exactly what I meant when I said larger. I love my heavy 18/10 Reed & Barton flatware as I said. I don't like the larger continental size pieces that QVC sells. I don't consider my flatware puny at all. I'm sorry that anyone took offense at what I said. I wish I hadn't posted at all. I thought I was being helpful in case she didn't know.
Thanks..I appreciate it...I love my Continental size flatware despite my tiny "delicate flower" size!LOL!!!!
Reedand Barton is no more, but hoping Lenox is maintaining the tradition...

I personally don't like the continental size either. My hands and mouth are small ( my dentist said so, but my hubby doesn't agree). I prefer to use a tea spoon to eat soup because the soup spoon is way too big. I am glad there are choices out there though. There is something for everyone.
Please continue to contribute to the forums. Don't take offense as most people don't mean any harm when they respond. It's difficult to "read" people's intentions because you can't see facial expressions or body language.

I bought 2 sets of Reed & Barton approximately 16 years ago at the Myrtle Beach outlet for a very good price. I prefer to use the salad fork due to the smaller size but my husband prefers the dinner fork. However, he prefers the smaller spoon and I prefer the soup spoon. This is the best silverware I have owned and am so glad I got a good deal.
I wish QVC would locate an outlet closer to where I live!

They rarely present flatware, but they do carry it. Just enter flatware in the search bar and press Enter. They don't all have video presentions, but some do.
I bought a set of Lenox flatware 2-3 years ago when it was the TSV. I can't find the same set now, but I'll say this. It came with a set of Sporks. I didn't think much about it, but I'm so glad to have them. I use the sporks more often than the regular forks. Forks are great for pasta, salads, and meat, but the spork is fantastic for dishes served over rice, dishes with potatoes or stuffing, and especially good for desserts like pies, cobblers, or ice cream with mix-ins, like Ben and Jerry's. I had no idea how much I would come to value my sporks. ![]()

That's true. I don't really have dinner parties, so I don't worry about proper place settings. Because of that, I'm free to use the smaller salad forks for my entire dinner and leave the larger forks in the drawer. (I think that's another reason I prefer the sporks, which I mentioned in an earlier post.) but the longer forks are great for pasta or shredding meat from the slow cooker. It took me a while to get used to them, but now I also use the larger forks to eat with as often as the salad forks. I like the longer knives and I use both the regular and table spoons for soups.

Over 20 yrs ago I bought RSVP 18/10 silverware set for 12 from Q. not a problem in all these years no pitting & perfect...wow, the oldies but goodies I've bought & are no longer on Q. I know the Reed & Barton is a good set also.
We purchased a Lenox set for 12 for my niece from Macy's. We all used our coupons/sales and it was quite reasonable. They have a big weekend Sale going on this weekend w/free shipping at $25. You may want to check their website and they have good coupons/discounts too.
Although, Q has many sets online.

I purchased flatware from QVC probably 20 years ago, it still looks new, I get compliments on it all the time.
Why do you not like "heavy" flatware? Which BTW can be found anywhere.

I do like heavy flatware. My Reed & Barton is 18/10, and I've had it for at least 30 years. They still sell my pattern. I just don't like the larger flatware and wanted to make sure the OP knew what she would be getting. That's apparently what she wanted, so I'm glad she was aware.
@Nicknack The larger pieces are known as European sizing. If you don't like them, avoid that sizing. I got my stainless at Amazon. I like contemporary patterns and they have an extensive collection of choices. 18/10 has nothing to do with weight; it means the alloy contains nickel which is what keeps it shiny.
