I was watching PBS yesterday, and she made drop scones. As they gave the ingredient they listed it on the screen , sometimes in metrics and sometimes in standard measures.
She said 1 cup self-rising flour, but on the screen it showed 1 c cake flour. Then it called for pinch of salt, then 1 t baking powder, 2 T superfine sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 c milk. It was mixed like pancake batter and made like pancakes. She served them with jam. They looked very good.
So, here is the problem, over there is self-rising flour called cake flour here?? Any body from Ireland and know the answer.
