Hello I have some questions....my spouse purchased a large platter of several different kinds of cookies from Costco yesterday. I am concerned they will get dry/hard and stale before company comes for Christmas Day. The platter has a large plastic lid but I did transfer them into separate lock & lock containers. Should I freeze them also or will this work until the holiday??
Types of cookies are chocolate chip....sugar cookies with sprinkles...chocolate with powdered sugar...butter pecan with powdered sugar.
I am thinking not a good idea to freeze if they have powdered sugar on them...never did this before.
Thank you to anyone who can advise!

I think I would just keep them in the Lock & Lock. I usually bake batches of cookies for the holidays and store them in L&L or cookie tins. I don't freeze my cookies. You have to be careful with the thaw with the powdered sugar, etc. L&L gets my vote and use every time.

I finished baking my cookies this past week.they are in containers in a cold area of the house. They will keep just fine until Christmas and beyond.
If some of the cookies are " wet" with jelly or frosting. It is possible that they will get soggy or even moldy if kept in an air tight container and make the "dry" cookies too soft.
Store them separately. Dry cookies air tight and wet with a little breath of fresh.

I agree. They will fare very well just in Lock & Lock for this period - and even much longer. I mean, I wouldn't put them in the kitchen window or anything, but keep them in a cool-ish place, even a cabinet that is not in a part of the kitchen that gets warmer.
I say that because my kitchen is on the west side of my house and the cabinets that are on the west wall get more warmth and the ones on the other sides of the kitchen stay nice and cool. This time of year that doesn't apply because we get cool to cold winters, but if it were warm weather I wouldn't keep them on that side.
