After making lots and lots of Christmas cookies in December, my Cuisinart hand held mixer finally gave out on me. I don't have a stand one because I don't want to have to store it, so I used my hand held exclusively. I had it for ten years and it powered through so many doughs. It died on Christmas night when I went to use it. Turns out it was just the beaters getting twisted enough to stop functioning. Regardless.....I bought a new Kitchen Aid 9 speed and have used it four times already and I LOVE it! I got it from the Q and paid around $69 or so.

I had a Kitchen Aid way back when and it didn't perform well, that's when I went to Cuisinart. So now I've ordered replacement beaters for the Cuisinart, but still go to the Kitchen Aid one. I made chocolate chip cookies two nights ago and they were smoother than smooth (which is how I wanted it, but could never get all the way there). I have to say that Kitchen Aid must have improved over the years or else I finally got the better version to bake with because I love this! It came with attachments too - but I've only used the beaters and it seems like it has a lot of power for such a little thing. I'm glad I got it - now only time will tell how good it will continue to be!
