Re: HELP!! Chocolate Pudding Stuck in Farberware Pot

Interesting thread. Today, I started cooking green beans and stepped outside to pick a couple of flowers. Well, I got carried away and the beans burned onto the pan. I tried a couple things and scrubbed a lot. Most of it is gone. I am now letting it dry. Sometimes it is easier to clean if it is dry. Maybe it will flake off.

Let us know what works for you.

I also recommend hot water and dishwasher detergent.....soak overnight as suggested....good luck. May even have to try it two times. Oops....just went back to read all posts and see you had success with RedTop's suggestion ......great news. I will keep these suggestions too.

DG.......chocolate pudding ? You rascal you ! I don't know what to have for dinner...if I had the energy ,it would be warm chocolate pudding with walnuts and real whipped cream. Will probably settle for peanut butter on bread.......glad you got your pan cleaned. Hope you are doing well............Danky

To remove this kind of scorching, bring a solution of water, white vinegar, and Dawn detergent to a boil, then let soak for several days----you may even need to repeat this procedure. Remember, what you are trying to remove is burned into the pot surface; it is not just something that can be scraped off the surface, but is actually etched into the pot. Therefore, you need patience, and long term soaking to achieve success.

Re: HELP!! Chocolate Pudding Stuck in Farberware Pot

Katey,

There isn't an exact recipe, but for a bad scorch, I suggest filling the pot halfway with water, add a good hard squirt of Dawn, and at least half a cup of white vinegar. Bring to a full boil, turn off the heat, soak, and let the Dawn and vinegar go to work to break down the scorched food. Again, if the scorching is really bad, you may need to soak that pot for 24 hours, and even repeat the process. This has never failed me.
