My grocery stores in Texas have curbside pickup, but I have an ongoing list so I do not forget items. I use that list to place the order.
I thought I was the only one that put stuff on my list in order of where it's at in the store so I'm not running back & forth. After I have a list I have to rewrite it so it's in order. DH thinks I'm weird. I told him I can get in & out a lot faster that way.
I still forget items due to the item not being on my list?
I also make out my list in order of how I go through the store.
And I write down each store or business I have to go to in order too. Otherwise I'll forget half of what I need to do!😆

I'm 75 and learned early on to make a list. I got tired of forgetting things I *needed*. I must have the list making gene as my son makes lists of everthing and it has served his family well. My DIL is the same.
My days of using coupons are long gone but decades ago I used coupons all the time.

I keep running lists for several stores (including PetSmart) on the Out of Milk app on my iPhone. I'm at the point where I need a list to remember what I need to get or the items for a specific recipe I plan to do. The Out of Milk app is an easy way to do it for several stores.

@Nightowlz & @On it...
lol, same here, I make my list out according to the aisles I'll be going through, it does make shopping easier and faster IMO.

Ido make a list, and yes i have been known to forget it.

I also organize my list according to store layout—but typically, I just keep my list in my head rather than writing anything down. The main grocery store I frequent offers digital coupons, with the specials often valid for only a short timeframe, so I'll load those to my store card before I go and then I'm all set. Occasionally, they also send paper coupons, but that seems rare anymore, and they also only offer their ad online now; that took some getting used to, but it's now a habit to skim it when I'm deciding what I need for the next week or so.

@qualitygal Yes, I keep a paper by the phone in the kitchen I scribble things down on through the week. Then, Thursdays night I always write out a new, legible one for Fridays trip to the store.

Yes I always have a list, which is written in order of my route thru the store. By this time of year my pantry shelves and freezers are stocked very well with basic needs, which translates to my monthly trips pretty much being a fast trip down the vegetable and dairy aisle, across the meat section, and up the bread aisle to the checkout.
I use the digital deals thru IGA, no clipped coupons.

my grocery story has "digiital" deals rather than coupons. So I am signed up for that and put my list together on my phone using their app.
I agree about putting things in the order they are in the store because I would also forget things if I didn't do that and I hate have to backtrack all over the store for things. LOL
I list the places I have to go too so that I can also be efficient in my route. I take care of my brother and if he goes with me, well, that seriously slows me down but it's good for him to get out of the house for a while doing something that is NOT a doctor's appointment.

I make a list on my phone or iPad, adding to it as things come to mind. My groceries don't qualify for coupons.
