I just made my lunch of a grilled tomato and cheddar cheese sandwich in my Rangemate. WOW! It is great and crispy! I buttered both sides, did the first side for 3 minutes and the second for 90 seconds. The second side got dark, so I'll do it for 60 next time. There was practically no clean up and no heating up the house in our 90 degree weather with a 103 heat index today! Yummy, melted, and tasty!

Sounds like something DH and I would really enjoy for lunch. We'll try it tomorrow. Thanks.

I used the guidelines from the original one on Q from the download on their page. I downloaded all those guides for the recipes to be able to adapt for using with many different things. The recipe I went with was for grilled ham and cheese, so tomatoes and cheese was a natural leap for me. I did cook some chicken by preheating the pan by 5 minutes, then cooking the chicken for 4 and 4 but it had so much water in the chicken that it steamed more than cook. It was frozen, so take it as an experiment.

What ever I cook, Hamburgers, chicken, I drain off after cooking the 4 minutes or before turning.

tigriss,
I am going to try out my new Rangemate today by making a tomato and cheese sandwich for my husband and me for our lunches. That is my favorite grilled sandwich and it will be fun to see how it turns out in this new product. sue-p

Thanks for your reply! I will look up the original one and see if I should preheat. Haven't used it yet.

Made this sandwich today - EXCELLENT! - but 60 seconds on the 2nd side was a little too much, I think 30 or 40 might be better. YUM!

I have received my Rangemate but have not used it yet. I am a bit confused about whether or not to preheat it in order to get the grill marks on the meats. People are saying that they preheat it, yet my instruction book says to absolutely not put it in the microwave empty to heat it. Do you put water in it or something when preheating?
