For Christmas I got a set of Green Life pans, and they are very nice, and I also got some silicone utencils to use with them, nothing hard.  Now I notice in the soup pot there is a little mark like a piece came off the coating.  I'm afraid to use it now.  I wonder if they would replace one pan in the set.  Would you use it or stop entirely?

This is my opinion, please stop using.  You do not know what is in that pan that you are digesting.

I think I would try to find out what they are made of.  If you are satisfied with the construction materials, continue to use but ask for a replacement for that one pan.

I found this:  If your GreenLife pan is sticking, it's likely due to overheating and the buildup of carbonized oil, which forms a sticky layer. To address this, you can use a melamine sponge to remove the carbonization, and to prevent it in the future, cook at low to medium heat and use oils with high smoke points.

From Green Life Pan site.

What if my pan's surface gets scratched?

Scratches, dents, or pits in the coating won’t affect the safety or performance of your pan. No nonstick coating lasts forever. How fast the pan’s coating fades depends on how often you cook and, of course, how you care for your pan. A thick undercoating protects food from contacting the aluminum underneath, so it can be used for years after the coating is gone.

How is your ceramic nonstick coating made?

We believe in clean. It starts with sand-derived raw materials, which we turn into a solution and spray onto the pan without the need for glues or numerous PFAS additives. We’ve cut out the toxins—PFAS, PFOA, Lead, and Cadmium—so you can cook without worry.

Thank you for that information!  Good to know.

But I only got the set at Christmas and never used anything other than silicone utencels so I was surprised to see that little mark there on the bottom. Not a scratch, but a little dot. I've used it since to make chicken soup.

I agree the pan shouldn't have done that. I would want them to replace that pan. You have only had it 3 months?

I don't think the non stick pans can tolerate high heat. I think it causes the peeling of the coating.

I use stainless steel or cast iron pan to cook at higher temperatures.

Yes, I only got the set at Christmas,  and I knew I could only use it on medium heat so never did use a higher heat on them.  If I want something on high, I use my stainless steel.

I bought my younger sister some T-fal frying pans because that's what she wanted.

She didn't know using high heat would cause the coating to peel. I found out after I had some pans start peeling.

I bought her a set of 2 MsMk frying pans from Amazon. I have been using the 3 piece set I bought just over 3 yrs ago. They still look new. She hasn't complained about hers peeling.

I wasn't sure how long they would last. I had never heard of the brand name when I bought them.
