I like Penzey's. I buy from Penzey's, Simply Organic or Frontier Organic spices. Penzey's spices are really good but I don't think they are organic. Spices do make a difference. When I was making French toast with cinnamon from Penzey's you could really smell it vs. regular store bought cinnamon.

One time I realized I did not have enough chili powder for a recipe so I did a quick search for a homemade substitute.

I made this and from then on I have been making my own chili powder. I don't use the entire 2 tsp garlic powder. I use less.

Chili Powder Seasoning Blend

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon paprika

2 teaspoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon oregano

2 teaspoons garlic powder

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.
