Gnats!!!!!!!!!

I keep a really clean kitchen. Never leave dishes in the sink, no food out, wipe down granite counters 2x/day. Just the last week or so, these tiny gnats are driving us insane! I read on the internet to put out cups of apple cider vinegar with dish detergent. Yesterday afternoon, there were about 10 gnats in both of them in my kitchen. I have searched and searched for their "source" and find absolutely nothing. I'm getting tired of smelling that vinegar! Is this just a bad year for gnats (live in the South! or what! Any ideas?
