I have one in the basement, but they were selling another one (brand) on David's show yesterday. Only watched the last hour and I thought that one was quite big.
We don't use ours. I actually thought it was a pain to wash. But I watched how the lady pulled the top and bottom off to clean up. I'd probably burn myself doing that. I have limited space and cupboards over counters, and I could just see that happening. I could be wrong.
Did anyone get this? I'm sure someone did, but for 2 nothing that large is needed. At least not here. It might be great for a larger family.
Did anyone else see this and what did you think?

I didn't see yesterday's presentation, but I have a GF where you can detach the grill plates to wash them. I rarely do, though, actually, only if I am grilling hamburgers. Right after grilling, usually a chicken tender, I just clean up with a paper towel.
The grill plates have sides (for handles) that do not get hot.

We have a GF grill and hubby uses it a lot, for chicken, fish, burgers, chops, etc. It has the detachable plates and he sets a timer to let them cool first and then washes. We have a smaller version but big enough for the 2 of us. Have had it for a number of years and works great.

I have the early version of the GF and very recently, decided I wanted a new grill with removable plates. It came down to the Cuisinart Griddler, the T-Fal, and the George Foreman 2-in-one evolve grill (in platinum). I chose the GF based on reviews and ordered it through Amazon. It is supposed to arrive on Wednesday. The plates are removable and ceramic so we'll see.

I have the GF that was on-air yesterday, and I love it. It works well, and the fact that I can remove the plates and run them through the dishwasher makes cleanup a snap.
I have never burned myself -- even when changing hot plates (from the baking pan to the waffle plates). If burning oneself is a concern, simply wait until it cools off to clean up. No trouble at all!

ITA. The original one of years ago has come a long way baby.

I am glad to hear that you like yours, KYToby.
I have been thinking about getting a counter-top grill again.
We used to have a GF grill years ago, when they first came out, where you couldn't remove the panels to clean them. In our opinion, it was a hassle to clean for that reason only. Otherwise, we really like the concept.
I like the newer version with the removable plates for easier cleaning, plus the fact that you can switch the plates out and also use it to make waffles, too.
I would consider getting another one of these grills.

I have one that the plates do not come out. I do use it pretty regularly, but what I do is I place aluminum foil on the plates. When it cools down, all I have to do is toss the foil. Didn't use it much before I started doing that.

Thanks for the foil hint. I like mine to cook a steak & salmon, but I dread cleaning it. It's an old one & does not have removable plates. I do like how fast it cooks & plan on using it tonight with foil.
