General question about flooring

We have frequent discussions here about flooring in kitchens and on a sort of related topic I have questions about bathroom/kitchen flooring. I currently have a wood floor in the kitchen and LOVE it. But we are looking at redoing a bathroom--floor, shower, tub surroung, and are thinking about a marble or travertine floor.

Do you have either of these in your house? If you have marble, what is the finish and how slick is it? I would really like some input on this and appreciate all wisdom you have to share! THANKS!
