Plants and animals have been genetically modified from basically the beginning of time........A lot of food has changed in flavor because it is grown in a hot house, not in nature, so foods are available year round......for more profit. You can not stop insects from going from a GMO farm to a non GMO farm. You can not control nature. In our economy, people have to buy what foods they can afford in the grocery market, not what is best for them. NOW.......think about cotton........You eat it in your foods...You wear it on your body, that is covered with skin, the largest organ of the body....AND....that money that you touch to pay for your non GMO foods is ........Made With Cotton........Think of a way that cotton can no longer be a part of your life......AND....know that cotton fits in that class of GMO's.....AND, the defoliant used on cotton plants is filled with the chemicals used in agent orange.....NOW again, how can you avoid cotton in your life, and not be subjected to GMO's in your life.......Show me a way that you can prove that your organic meats came from organic animals that were not exposed to only non GMO products, that their grass and hay were non GMO......And while you are thinking of that, remember that we are a nation that went after big tobacco, as it was killing America......and know that the medication used to kill Ebola, was made from GMO tobacco............

Well stated, forrestwolf!!!!!
Mother Nature was the first genetic engineer.
One of the few problems I have with GMOs: if a plant or animal is supposed to be eradicated by nature, we are preventing that from happening.
The only example I can give is when I virus wiped out the impatiens a few years ago. Mother Nature intended for that to happen, but Monsanto (or whomever) brought them back.

What Mother Nature naturally causes to happen is completely different from what man causes to happen.
I have to say that this is a very civilized discussion...good job everyone. We may not agree, but that's okay. At least we can express our opinions & be respectful.
