Have you ever watched (say at Costco) to see how many and just who is buying bottled water? I have bought bottled water for more than 35 years. That was the time when my development sold their well water to the water company. That was when the water company started adding chemicals to it.

I know the water I buy isn't the best but I've asked for and received a chemical analysis of what's in it (or not in it).

I've seen (and helped) people who must be 80 years old buying water. I've seen people who you'd have never thought they'd be interested in what they drink buy water! I find it amazing!

My point is that we have come to the point where there is so much 'stuff'' put in our water that even people who can't afford a steak will buy bottled water.

Look on the back of the next bottled water you buy. I won't bore you with all that's put into bottled water (to improve the taste), just read the back.

There's my statement on GMO.

I don't think genetically altering the food supply to grow bigger/more/pest-resistant is a good thing when the result is food that is not only less nutritious, but harmful to those who consume it.

I've read so much over the years about it. I don't really believe being able to feed the masses cheaply is good when it makes the masses sick & diseased. That is exactly what we are seeing.Those making profits are telling us that it is our imagination & everything is good. No. Everything is not good.

I've done plenty of research over the years about GMO's. I now try to avoid them as much as I possibly can. I believe they are pure evil, & do nothing but harm to our bodies & the environment. Haven't you noticed how fresh food doesn't taste the same as it used to? I've noticed it for years. I was raised on FRESH food....fresh caught fish & seafood....veggies from our garden. The food in supermarkets is severely lacking in taste, freshness & quality.

I now buy almost strictly organic food & plant my own garden in the summer. Costco has THE BEST organic ground beef, & it's very reasonably priced. The quality & taste are top-notch.

There's a reason why GMO labeling is fought so hard....there's a lot of $$$ at stake, & Monsanto is in control (& in the WH). In my area, the ads against the labeling focused on the pretend $$$ it would cost the consumer. Of course many people didn't want to pay more "pretend" $$$, so they voted against it (or so we are told anyway- I don't believe much of what they tell us anymore).

The biggest thing I get out of this thread is that there is so much more MIS-information on this topic that anything else. Your food has been modified for generations through selective breeding of new plant strains. Roses are hybridized, plants cross-pollinate naturally. So I'm saying that plants evolve and change like everything else.

That being said, it is easy to paint all GMO foods as evil, for profit only (so how come ANYONE grows food for sale? The old famer in "overhauls" and a straw hat is out for profit as much as Monsanto); some dark plot to rule the earth; frankenstein foods created in evil labs. . . etc. etc. etc. There is some middle and rational ground in all of this that is actually allowing more food to be produced, better strains of foods to be grown and more variety. Pluot anyone? Just don't listen to propaganda on both sides of many issues today, read and learn from both sides in the middle, and make informed choices from YOUR own reasoning and research.

Lots of what the media spews out is pure lies and nonsense today about so many issues that really are important. Just be aware of that! THAT is one face I know!!!! It is like politics, the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle and you seldom hear that voice now. I'm just saying it is easy to paint all aspects of anything or anyone as E V I L now. . . way too easy.

To me, there are way more important things to worry about. We all eat such garbage anyhow. I don't know - I just can't get all excited about this. Monsanto is a good company that provides a lot of jobs for a lot of people. I'd rather we do away with fast food. Much more of an issue.

Monsanto IS NOT a good company- they're PURE EVIL. Jobs don't even come into play in this discussion.

Monsanto destroys....do some research. EVIL...PURE EVIL.

And you people must know that when "studies" are done about topics, most the time they are funded by the company involved. For ex., a GMO study will have a paper trail leading back to the companies that provide the garbage. Same thing with the pharm companies & their drug testing. The "results", aka lies, will benefit their own cause, & line their pockets.

Don't you realize by now that the almighty $$$ controls everything? Do you actually believe they care about our health?

Gmo's is not the same as exchanging plant genes with plants. Scientist now have the ability to exchange plants with animals. Ex, to put a frog gene in a tomato to produce an antifreeze tomato. We need more info and disclosure about genetically modified food.

If you're going to go so far as to claim any company is EVIL ... PURE EVIL ..... the least you could do is to provide some evidence ... some examples ..... people make cwap up all the time, so without any real facts, there's no reason to believe you. ${#emotions_dlg.confused1}$
