Gluten free has no wheat, rye, barley, oats.  And, not processed in a facility that also processes gluten foods due to contamination.

@Jojojujube   Wouldn't this all be a great thing. They don't sell 'healthy' here though do they.

I wish I could find gluten free foods more in local grocery stores.

@PINKdogWOOD

@PINKdogWOOD I pretty much figure the only way for me to eat healthy is to eat what I prepare myself - and I am not even in need of gluten-free foods nor vegan.  It's just that no matter where I buy it, when I buy prepared foods to save a bit of time I am virtually always choosing less healthy alternatives.

BTW -  I don't buy any prepared foods in the quantities QVC and most other food sources sell.

@Jojojujube  Have you tried Amy's frozen dinners and Amy's soups for those quick meals? They are amazingly good and all gluten free. (Mexican bowl is OK, the Thai and Indian are my favorite frozen dinners. Have only tried the vegable soup, which was fine. There are others which didn't appeal to me. Those soups are filling!)

I do add sliced celery, green and/or red bell peppers, and additional spices to all the frozen dinners to perk them up  after microwaving them.

Money screams; wealth whispers.

I have been gluten free out of necessity for the past 36 years.  All meats, except processed ones, veggies, nuts and fruits are gluten free and widely available.

All food that contains gluten is processed in some way.  There are cereals, pasta, snacks and bread products available in grocery stores and available on line from many retailers.

There is no way I would buy gluten free produts from QVC.  I don't think they would do well with specifically made gluten free products because all food from QVC is expensive and expensive to ship.  There are other outlets for gluten free foods.

QVC seems to buy their food products used in their demos at Wegman's which is a grocery store ( they buy the store branded products).

Re: GLUTEN FREE FOODS

[ Edited ]

Wegman's and Trader Joe's are my go-to's for gluten free items.  Many major supermarket chains now stock a wide variety of these foods. However, most of the time I just cook at home.  The gluten free foods available in the markets are highly processed. However, I  wouldn't buy gluten free  from QVC-- I like to read ingredients ! FYI-- I have celiac disease, so it's not a choice for me.  It's a need.

Preparing gluten free out of dietary necessity is achallenge.  Thank goodness more and more products available.  Costs are a challenge.  Aldi has some delicious choices too.  I agree that trader Joes offers tasty choices.

  • For individuals who are not aware of how many products contain gluten (such as myself), I was shocked that canned soups, soy sauce, some spices, etc contain gluten.  Reading everything is necessity.  Also disappointing that some loved recipes can't just be prepared with just using all purpose gluten free flour.

@Twins Mom   Some medications, over the counter and available by prescription only contain gluten too.
