@nyc1   Yes to Tempranillo! 

 

I love the Sangiovese grape in Ruffino Chianti and on very special occasions, Brunello di Montalcino.

 

Have you tried Isaac Mizrahi's Malbec you can get here on QVC?  It's wonderful -- I have it on auto-delivery. Smiley Happy

@Caaareful Shopper @nyc1  Love a good Tempranillo wine!!   For cooking recipes though I normally would go to a Cab or a Zin like others have mentioned.  You should always use a good wine for cooking and save the great wine for drinking!  LOL, enjoy your recipe.

Thanks @nyc1 and ALL who helped me. I must apologize and say I didn't state my question properly (relied on my memory). The recipe is called Italian Pot Roast and the exact wording is "1 cup medium-bodied Italian red wine".
