Summerbreeze, that is totally uncalled for. There's no reason the dish should have cracked...even though it was in the oven for 6 hours, the temperature was low enough that it shouldn't have mattered. Heck, the amount of cook time should not have negative effects on the cookware at all. I never hear Tara say that you can only cook under certain temps for certain lengths of time...if there are all of these stipulations, then they should say so on the air and include information pertaining to this along with the cookware when they ship it to you. I'd hate to think what would happen if you took a dish from freezer to oven like they say you should be able to do!
I have a lot of Temptations, some of which has crazed, one of which cracked right in half. I will no longer buy any since I think the quality control is seriously lacking. Also, I only have so much space in my kitchen!

I'd just purchase better quality stuff. There are lots of choices out there. Fiesta, for one, makes excellent quality stoneware (MIA). Some other really good companies make it but not all in the US - some still good quality. I would not put any stoneware made in China in any heat source unless it came from a top notch company.
The older CorningWare, that is the Pyroceram made int he US, is also extremely good. But the newer, Chinese-made, stuff is not. It's a stoneware that I find unappealing.
ITA! I use my CorningWare everyday...the original pyro-ceram......don't like the French White or any of the newer stuff.
I own no Temp-tations but have bought it for gifts....but not any longer; too uncertain about quality

First rep did not know if cooking something for 6 hours would effect the dish. Second rep said it would not. In the end they replaced the item with me paying shipping. This should not have happened and I will not be purchasing any more temptations. This should not happen .
I hope they weren't saying that soaking it in water would make it crack!

It's hard to feed a troll on cracked dinnerware! Maybe the trolls are the ones who refuse to believe temptations never crack. My loaf pan cracked..first use. My 9x13 baker has crackled and crazed so badly that it looks gray instead of confetti .

I agree with using it for serving only, and not baking.
It's really beyond my understanding why someone with continuing problems would even want to bake in it anymore. It's not just that it's annoying - It's potentially dangerous.
Who wants to be constantly worried about something like this when the simplest solution is just to use something else? Life is too short, IMO. The problem can easily be eliminated by realizing the limitations of Temptations and putting an end to the cycle of buy, crack, replace, repeat.
And I am not a troll! We're free to express opinions and share experiences here without being called names.

On the info sheet that came with the few I ordered ( a lot more than I wanted to read
lol)it DID say to not soak an item IN the dishwater--you can put water in the dish but the bottom of the dishes are not glazed? but they are dw safe -- I guess because they do not soak that way.
I love the polka dots that I bought ,but a lot of times I just get out my old corning ware or pyrex and use it so I do not have to pamper it when I clean up.

I had this happen with a three piece baking set several years ago. I pitched them and never looked back. They're defective, quit wasting your money! I have NO idea why the Q still sells them.
