I buy fresh fruit regularly...I love fruit.

I also keep frozen berries, mango and cherries in the freezer for smoothies. ...though...those cherries are nice frozen fruit snacks sometimes. 😋

I've bought canned pineapple and peaches in the past, occasionally, for some specific recipe, but don't buy them much or any other canned fruit.

Interesting to hear about "aluminum" shortage now...sigh...what else?!!

I skipped big grocery last week, only shopped a local farm market up the road. Given what I'm seeing at stores like CVS, and what I read here, it will be interesting to see what the shelves are like and what's available or not. I know, as I posted here last week, it was the first time since 2020 I didn't find the paper goods I wanted at CVS.

I heard about the aluminum shortage last year. It has not got any better yet plus the price on it has gone up. They said on the show that's why there is no canned sweet corn in the stores. I have not looked since I buy frozen over canned.

I have been ordering most of our groceries online & have not ran into any problems getting what I order. Walmart was out of organic frozen blueberries but I found some at Aldi's.

Mostly, I buy fresh fruit. I do buy pineapple in juice, to have with cottage cheese. Today, I purchased fresh fruit from Stop & Shop

for home delivery. I was shocked to see Honeycrisp apples priced at $2.99 EACH! No apples for us this week.

@Carmie Do you. have a lot of luck with the fresh pineapples?  Do they ripen well on the counter?

TIA

I have had luck with fresh pineapple. They have all been ripe. Look for the yellow color like in the pic for ripeness. Most I buy are already turning that golden yellow color.

I bought one years ago that was overripe it smelled like it was fermeneted.

I have been eating about 2 of them per week. I'm out now so need some more. Yum!!!

Walmart has 2 lb bag of organic Honey Crisp apples for $6.96. There is usually 6 per bag.

Mostly fresh. Sometimes frozen. I haven't had any canned in a long time.

@Nightowlz I am doing pickup so I guess most of them would ripen "in house!"  I used to grab the ones I could smell a little pineapple scent.  Thanks for the tips!

My family will eat fruit occasionally, but unless someone requests a specific fruit, I will only buy a few apples and bananas once a month.

@Sooner  My tip to check for a ripe pineapple is to pluck a leaf from the very middle top of the pineapple crown.  It should pull out Easily.  If it resists, it's not ready.

@Nightowlz Pretty much 25 percent fruit, 25 percent veggies, 25 percent chicken, fish or meat, and 20 percent "other"!  LOL!!!!  Guess on my part!
