In honor of their 87th anniversary and because it is 7-11 they are giving away free small Slurpees from 11am to 7pm today. I haven't had a Slurpee in years, but I used to love the cherry ones on a hot summer day. I can't get my free one, don't have any 7-Elevens nearby, but for those of you that do, get your Slurpee!

I was coming out of the 7-11 and a guy was taking a selfie holding the slurpee cup in front of the store. He said ""my wife will love this!"" ... I had no idea what he was doing so I asked. He told me about the free slurpees inside so I went back in and got a blue raspberry one. My first slurpee ever.

Thanks! I,love coke slurpees with a little,bit of cherry mixed I'm. it is worth the excruciating cold headaches. And I expect the machines are rarely if ever cleaned, but we have a 7-11 2 blocks away owned by some wonderful Sihks (sorry for spelling), I made the is mistake of using the Arabic greeting one day and was politely corrected. Sikks have been persecuted by Muslims. It is a fascinating religion. Very peaceful.

DH brought home a watermelon slurpee a few days ago and it was great...but I can't just have a small one!

I so loved a great Slurpee when I was growing up, but then the Seven Eleven lost all stores in GA, due to selling alcohol to minors, and then dealt with Sing stores, and used to have the Icee served in cups, with tabs on the cups, that you could collect and get gifts with a page full of tabs, and then during baseball season, would serve the Icee in a plastic baseball cap type vessel with all of the different MLB teams represented..........Oh......so miss them.....
