Shrimp - but it had better be battered or breaded !{#emotions_dlg.blink} Have to have them covered up !{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Your post made me laugh twocent, that was how my daddy was. He claimed to not like shrimp, he wouldn't touch cocktail shrimp because he said he could taste iodine, and he hated shrimp in garlic butter.....but he loved the fluffy Japanese style tempura shrimp. He also loved English scampi (which is baby langostinos - like shrimp- battered and fried). He had very particular tastebuds. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I had to think on this question because there isn't much I don't like, but I guess my answer would be tuna. I love tuna steaks, like ahi tuna, and sushi, but I really dislike tuna in a can. I'll eat it, and very rarely I will get a can of tuna and make a tuna salad sandwich, but I really don't care for canned tuna.

lol Glad I made you smile !{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} I just can't imagine eating one not "covered up." Looks like a bug . Never thought about it much , until I saw shrimping done in Fla. Gave me a whole new outlook. {#emotions_dlg.blink} {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Speaking of tuna, I ate canned white tuna with peas for lunch. Sometimes I wonder why I eat this stuff, as I can't actually call it "yummy!" Tuna in a can is too close to a can of Spam. It somehow is just "wrong!"{#emotions_dlg.lol}

{#emotions_dlg.laugh} I associate canned tuna with cat food, and I don't have a cat. It is just so bland in taste, overly fishy in smell, and you have to add stuff to it to make it taste good. I would prefer a good med-rare tuna steak anytime.

ETA: As long as you enjoy your shrimp "covered up" there is nothing wrong with that. Smile

Perfect description !! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}{#emotions_dlg.lol} Pretty much my thoughts when I ate my lunch. I mixed it with steamed peas and put it on a baked potato. If it was so luscious, why did I need those peas and a potato ?{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Food items you will eat one way, but not another way.

I will eat toasted bread but I won't touch any bread that isn't toast. I'll eat grapefruit that comes in a jar but I won't eat a fresh grapefruit because it's too much work for such a little bit of fruit. I like nuts, I love peanut butter. But I don't like crunchy peanut butter. I like boiled eggs with just a touch of salt but I don't eat eggs prepared any other way.

Fun post! Love apples, yuck to applesauce. If I must eat veggies, they must be raw. Truth is, not so crazy about veggies. I sound more like a child than grown up!!

I will eat eggs only if they are boiled. No scrambled, fried, poached, or other cooking methods.

Re: Food items you will eat one way, but not another way.

Read all the posts after I posted earlier: totally forgot about mayonnaise!!! I don't like it but have eaten a shrimp dish DH makes using a very little bit with orange zest for a French style dish. Tuna only gets eaten if it's fresh--DH has to rinse out the can and put it out with the trash immediately! This thread makes me feel great: there are lots of folks out there with unique tastes / smells do's and don'ts!!!!!

This thread is cracking me up (I'm laughing WITH you, not AT you.) {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Mine is hot coffee. Doesn't matter if I load it with cream & sugar, I won't touch it. However, I adore cold coffee/mocha drinks, coffee ice cream and my cocktail of choice is a Black Russian.

I'll eat celery if it's in something, like soup, roasted meat, etc. Otherwise, I think it's a stupid food & there's no reason for it to be on this planet. Forgive me for saying that, Mother Nature.

Aww, but celery is a natural diuretic. If you are feeling bloated, like you are retaining fluid, eat some. It's like taking a water pill.

I like raw carrots, but detest them cooked.

Quite a list here. I will eat mushroom soup or gravy but not a mushroom. Love chocolate and peanut butter but not together. Like cooked broccoli but not raw. Like raw cauliflower but not cooked. Like peanut butter and like jelly but not together. Love cheese but not on a hamburger. Love coffee until about ten in the morning and then it is gross to me . Won't eat anything coffee flavored. And don't even mention iced coffee. YUK. Like apples but not apple juice or applesauce.

I love raw oysters cant eat them cooked,I love cooked clams I hate them raw. I like tuna fish and I like cheese but never the twain shall meet it makes me physically ill when somebody puts cheese on my tuna fish sandwich
