I had to turn off QVC after I am watching Mary Beth this morning on Food Fest. Who pays almost 50$ for chocolate covered banana pieces and the same amount for 24 muffins? I cannot believe people would purchase those--I could throw a great party to 20 people with $100 and I wouldn't be serving muffins and bananas. I guess this is one reason that I very rarely watch QVC anymore.

So, do you think QVC devotes so much time to these food items even though they are not selling? Of course they sell -- and quite well.

I agree with you OP to a large extend. I enjoy cooking, I am pretty good at it (or so I am told), and I would rather buy the ingredients and do it myself for multiple reasons (one of which is because it is cheaper).

Unfortunately, though, a lot of people no longer cook or have the desire to do so. For people in these groups, food like this has become holiday staples. For others, particularly those who cook but do not consider themselves good bakers, they will opt to buy something special on QVC.

I easily see how this food sells so well; I am just not one of the people purchasing it.

People pick and choose what they will splurge on. I've bought the lobster here a couple times, way expensive but man were they good. KC burgers are the same thing. If I was rich I'd be on auto delivery. LOL, since I'm not it's a rare occurrence and I look forward to the next time I feel like I can spring for them. What one person considers foolish is another's necessity. Take make up, I'm pretty sure more money is spent in that category than food.
