Yesterday DD brought home a whole strawberry pie, I took my son and his SO (also his ex-wife, long story) 1/2 the pie.

He just came bearing 2 bottles of my favorite wine from his SO.  She has done this before and refuses to take $ for them.  I know they are about $20 a bottle.

Darn kids, they are either trying to fatten me up (more) or get me tipsy.  LOL

Very nice! Your family is very generous! I would enjoy it. In my family.....they're a little cheap. 😁

@Effie54  I agree it is very nice but I have a thing about people (especially my kids) spending their money on me and/or doing things for me.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   It obviously gives your children pleasure to pamper you with little treats.  Please don't destroy their joy by laying on guilt when they give you something. Just graciously accept it with a smile and a, "thank you".  And don't hurt their feelings by giving it away.

@Kachina624   Good grief, I would never hurt their feelings.  I don't lay guilt trips on them either.

I would rather do for people than receive from them.  I'm sure there are others like me.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   There's also an art to being a gracious recipient.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 Nothing you can do will outpace the joy that someone gets for doing for you.  It's the people who won't bow to the kindness of others who frustrate me most.  I'm sure you aren't like that from what I read from you.

It's the people who won't give up the control of giving--and I've been associated with a few in my lifetime.  Gotta cook the dinner, gotta be the hostess with the mostess, come to MY house for the holidays. . . etc.

@CrazyKittyLvr2

Hi Crazy.

I knew exactly what you were saying.

I'm so sorry you were reprimanded, its always the same one who has something negative to say. I too have been told what to do.

Enjoy the wine and the rest of the pie!

Have a great week ahead,

@CrazyKittyLvr2 : Life is short. Eat the pie. Drink the wine. Enjoy whle you can.

A little pie and wine never killed anyone that I am aware of.

@Sooner   I am very happy if someone else wants to cook, hostess etc.  I will help anyway I can but am tickled pink to be a worker bee, not queen bee.
