Hi, Q2girl,

Yes, Flamingo is a pretty pink, maybe with a touch of coral undertones, and I would describe it as a medium pink, not light.

Flamingo was retired recently. It is still fairly easy to find. I still see pieces when I go to Macy's and Le Gourmet Chef.

But, if you want any flamingo, it would be good to get it now rather than waiting, in my opinion!

This is not the best picture, but I grouped some of my bowls together. I love fiesta bowls, it is hard to resist buying more, lol.

In the back row, turquoise & peacock Macy's exclusive individual pasta bowl, and two flamingo gusto bowls. To the far right, peacock pedestal bowl (makes a nice fruit bowl).

Front row, a stack of fruit bowls, peacock, sunflower, lemongrass, turquoise, and the scarlet bouillon bowl. The 19 oz cereal bowl that is a part of the place settings, and the Dillard's exclusive small rice bowls in sunflower, lemongrass & tangerine.

This may give you a better picture of flamingo: The java mug and the small disc pitcher (turquoise).

Q2girl--I have only 1 of each of my place setting colors and love to mix them up. To answer your original question, none of my plates or any of the pieces for that matter have scratches. Like someone else wrote, I have no idea what happened to the display pieces. It almost looks like someone took a box knife to them.

The designer's original intention back in the 30's was to mix all the colors, so mix away!

Pretty things are worth taking care of and give us a lot of joy at meals!

I agree with you Sooner. Happy Housewife has a way of spoiling the funSmiley Sad. I don't think she likes my posts. Thanks Depglass! I think that's why my grandma had all the colors.
