Hi Ladies,
I have always made buttercream frosting. Even if I quickly make boxed cupcakes (very rarely do I do this, but if I have to make lots I sometimes do), I still always make my own frosting. However, sometimes when I try the frosting-even after lots of whipping/beating-I still can taste a bit of the powdered sugar. When I've tasted delicious buttercream frosting from great bakeries, I don't taste this.
What am I doing wrong? I beat the frosting with my stand mixture for what seems like an extra long time to get it very fluffy, but there's often this underlying taste of powdered sugar.
Any ideas? TIA![]()
