Re: Favorite Kitchen Gadgets!!!

@PinkyPetunia

I, too, love and use daily a wide array of silicone mixing spoons and spatulas that I collected when they were sold by Bed Bath and Beyond.  Got a drawer full of all sizes, shapes, and love them for not only grabbing up what I'm trying to stir or scoop up but because they won't scratch ANYTHING.

Even have some long thin ones designed to reach down into jars, such as mayonnaise or peanut butter.

Re: Favorite Kitchen Gadgets!!!

My favorite kitchen gadget is the Cuisinart Drum Grater (the chopper with the handle).  This unit works better for me than other types of slicers and chopping gadgets.  I also love my Shark Sharp knife sharpener.  I've had mine for a few years now and it's still as good as when it was new. It really works!  When I run any old knife through it that knife will effortlessly slice through even an old mushy tomato.

My meat chopper for cooking hamburger for tacos, etc.  It does a great job.

My jar lid opener.  It's adjustable and will clamp on to just about any type of jar with a lid.  I don't have much strength in my hands or arms so this has been a life saver.

My top 3:

1) The Ginsu basic serrated knives. Serrated in BOTH sides for lefties. I use these constantly- Fabulous, 6 for $25, never get dull.
2) A corner grippy sink strainer that is collapsible, use all the time and easy to store.

3) Dura-pan cookware from HSN. Love my pieces, wish he would make more with higher sides and long handle !

I like the break apart shears with the magnetic cases.  They're incredibly handy! 😊

@cheriere  I'm interested in these shears, but I already have the Kuhn Rikon. Mine are many years old, but they still do a good job. The only struggle I have is with spatchcocking a chicken. I have arthritis in my hands, and cutting out the backbone is a bit difficult. Have you tried your shears for doing chicken?

Re: Favorite Kitchen Gadgets!!!

@PA Mom-mom    They make really short work of cutting through chicken, beef, even trimming ribs (not the rib bone of course) lol.  Because they come apart so easily, cleaning is a breeze.  There's even a sharpener included on each pair.  I really do think you'd like them.  You may not want to give any of the others in the set away because they are so versatile lol. 😊
