 I'm looking for an egg cooker.  The one I saw on Amazon, Dash, has a 4.6 rating with 130.2K reviews and cooks 6 eggs at a time.  Does anyone have this egg cooker?  If you had one piece of advice for using an egg cooker, what would it be, please?  I'm looking forward to soft boiled eggs Smiley Happy All the reviews I watched mentioned pricking a hole in the large end of the egg.

@monicakm - I own two of these cookers and have given eight as gifts—and we all absolutely love them! I also upgraded to the larger version for times when I need even more eggs or want to do some multi-tier steaming.

You do need to poke a hole in the large end of whole eggs to allow the steam to escape, but just in case you didn't see this in the description, the unit comes with a little poker tool to do that. It is much simpler than it sounds.  Smiley Wink

If I had one piece of advice for this type of egg cooker, it would be: BUY IT. I know that seems simple and silly, but this unit saves lots of time and effort.

Let me know if you have specific questions; I'd be happy to help.

ETA: QVC sells this unit as well, and if you decide to buy in the next few hours, you'll get free shipping. (And if you choose the special "Peeps" version, you also get two fun inserts and it is only $15.99.)

I purchased it to replace my Krupps that died.  Yes, you have to ****** a hole in the larger end of the egg.  The needle is on the bottom of the measuring cup for the water.

When it makes a noise to indicate my eggs are done I unplug it.  If I'm doing a second batch, I wait 20 minutes to left the appliance cool down - that was recommended w/the Krupps. And I try and wipe out the part where the water sits, as it gets a bit rusty looking after the water has evaporated.

LOL - I hate making boiled eggs so I am very careful with this appliance. I think I bought mine from some other vendor.  I'm at the point where I don't trust Amazon much.

I have this and love it. Hard boiled eggs peel so easily. I like soft boiled eggs too, but do not like handling the hot eggs, I use this to make poached eggs. They slide out of the tray and onto my toast! Easy!  Hope you order it.

The representative for Dash on QVC said if you have hard water the metak plate may darken. She said to pour a littelwhite vinegar on it and leave it set for a few minutes, I tried this and it looks brand new. You don't turn it on just let the vinegar do the work.

If you eat a lot of eggs then buy it. I don't so I just steam mine in a pan on the stove top. No need to buy a cooker b/c I don't eat that many eggs.

Have it and LOVE it. It's the only way I make hard cooked eggs, can't speak to soft cooked ones.

@monicakm  I have this cooker and love it. I love poached eggs and these turn out so great. You don't have a pan to clean when finished. You will need to experiment with how soft or hard you want your eggs.

@loriqvc

Yes, I did see that an egg poker thingy comes built into one of the measuring cups.  Just placed my order for the one pictured in this thread.  I usually prefer just black or white countertop appliances but this time chose the cream colored one because it looks good with the blue light Smiley Wink  DH is going to LOVE this!
