It's just DH and me and we eat at the kitchen table. It's a great time talk over our day, what happened at our jobs, talk about the weather, just talk and catch up with each other. After dinner, DH helps me clean the kitchen, THEN we go in and relax with the news.

This is where my family ate meals and where DH"s family ate meals. I can't imagine having to eat in front of the tv. Where's the conversation? To me, that would be very boring.

DH is out of town this week on a business trip. I still eat sitting down at the table. With a cat or two with me on the chairs.

When the kids were home, I made everyone sit down at the table (when we could) for dinner. But now just "me and him" we eat where we want.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Both DH & I ate at a kitchen table growing up. Now with just the 2 of us (we don't have a table in the kitchen), we eat our meals together @ dining room table when we eat together. I work part-time & am not home for dinner/supper on Tuesday or Wednesday. We like to relax, set & nice table, and enjoy the taste of our food. Interesting, we are just beginning the "DASH" diet to control our blood pressure, and are not eating much in the way of carbs for the first 2 weeks, so that will be a struggle.

I have never eaten in front of the t.v., except a snack like popcorn. But meals--never. We always sit at the table to eat; I even did that when I was single and lived alone. But then again, I have never been a big t.v. watcher either.

At the kitchen table-in front of the TV.

When more than two of us are home, it's the dining room, as the kitchen table only seats two.

On rare occasion we get takeout pizza and eat in front of the big screen in the family room, in which case we refer to said meal as "slumming".

The children have always eaten at the dining room table. My husband and I would either eat at our desk or on the couch in the living room. I started to be bothered by that so now all of us eat together at the dining room table. Dinner is at 7:00.

When my kids were young, we always ate at the kitchen table, no tv.

Now it's just me and my husband...most nights we sit at the kitchen table and eat. If we have something simple like sandwiches and a salad, we will eat in the tv room and watch some type of sitcom like Seinfeld or King of Queens. Trouble is, our lab, Cody, tries to sneak food off our plates so it can be a challenge! He LOVES it when we eat in the tv room!

DH and I had a small apartment in the early years that had no room for a table. We sat eating in front of the TV on fold-outs. Years later, we bought a house and a table yet, we still sit in front of the TV eating dinner around 6PM.

Growing up, my family ALWAYS ate at the table. My grandparents often ate their meals on TV trays in front of the TV, and I remember thinking how cool that must be! But there was no way my mom would let that happen.

I'm single, but still eat my meals (and most snacks) at the table, preferably with a newspaper!
