David Venable and QVC Community,

Here is a rescue dessert that takes its easy ways from its name. For 40+ years I have shared this recipe with only good to rave reviews. I challenge you to try this recipe.

OK. You can make Dump Cake if you have a box of yellow cake mix, a stick of butter, a can each of crushed pineapple and cherry pie filling. Yes, four ingredients only.

1 box of yellow cake mix (use powder inside only)

1 stick of butter

1 can 8oz. each of crushed pineapple in water.

1 can 8oz. cherry pie filling.

In a 13 x 9 ungreased glass pan dump the powder from the cake mix and spread out.

Dump next a layer of crushed pineapple.

Dump another layer of cherry pie filling (any kind you want to use)

Slice the cold stick of butter into squares and dump for the last layer on top.

Bake at 300 degrees for an hour.

A special thanks to Mrs. Beverly Grald of Somerset, NJ for bringing a Dump Cake to my house years ago and making so many people happy.

The taste is like a gourmet crumble cake served hot (you might serve with vanilla ice cream)

The taste and texture is more like a chewy tart served cold.

Not sure which way I like best.

Enjoy
