Dried Soup Mix

I just discovered some Millie's soup packages that had gotten pushed behind some other items in my pantry. They have a date on them of 1/2009. Seeing how they are dried soup mixes, could I still use them? I don't especially want to kill my family by trying to save a few dollars. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}
