I had a friend who put hers in water in the microwave to "cook" it for sauce or soup.

Yes, I always "brown" mine in a skillet, until the "pink" is gone.
Never heard of putting it in water and microwaving it. ![]()

It depends on if I'm going to add the beef to a recipe for additional cooking.

Yes, always. The idea of putting it in water and into the microwave makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

You do know that Chef Anne Burrell passed away. Her death was ruled a suicide in July 2025. I enjoyed watching her on TV. Sad loss.
