Do You Like Hot or Spicy Food?

Hot or spicy as in Tabasco, or anything else never, ever appealed to me.

A well known restaurant has almost totally changed the menu to a hot sauce or it's hot /in another way.  I no longer go there.

I am not an adventurous eater, I'm a picky eater. I do not like hot or spicy food.

@Spacrazy

Of course, cocktail sauce for shrimp needs a little horse radish.  I have seen people almost drink Texas Pete.  No thanks!

@ECBG   Okay I will bite,  what is Texas Pete?  I'm from California. Salsa is a side dish here , but never heard of Texas Pete

Not any longer. I once enjoyed spicy Mexican food. My acid reflux won't let me enjoy that any more. I am lucky if I can get away with mild versions.

I have never liked spicy chicken wings or spicy Asian food. I use a hefty amount of Tobasco in my party mix which everyone but me enjoys.

@ECBG  having been born and raised in Louisiana a bottle of good ol' Tabasco was always on the table. I loved it then (along with many other brands) and love it now. Sadly, my stomach does not.

hat is the difference between Texas Pete and Tabasco?

Texas Pete does provide a Scoville heat range for its original hot sauce: 340 to 740 Scoville heat units (SHU.) That puts it anywhere from mild to a low-medium kick in the world of hot sauces. As a comparison, Tabasco Original Red Sauce runs from 2,500 to 5,000 SHU and Louisiana Hot Sauce taps out at 450 SHU.

@ECBG  Did you see pictues of Baker Mayfield filling out his application for a bus boy position at one of Norman's fine Mexican restaurants over the weekend?  Pretty funny!

We love it!  We have lots of Mexican, South American and southwest restaurants in this area and also it's often what we make at home.  We keep lots of hot sauce, Asian hot sauces, and jalapenos.

Until I moved here and discovered South Ameican, Mexican, New Mexican (some of the hottest I've ever had at a Sante Fe restaurant) and Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern dishes, I'd not spicy food.  Now, it's just what we do often.
