Do You Have a Kitchen Island?

This is the kitchen island I am thinking about having made. It will look like the one on the right, but will have the mixer lift like the one on the left. I will also have the top with enough of an extension to have two stools so we could sit at it and eat if we chose to or so someone could sit there while we prepare food.

If you have an island with a mixer lift, do you like it? Pros and cons, please. Or, if you have any other "extras" that you like, would you please share? I plan to have this made by a nearby Amish community, so if you have any other features that you have found are really useful, perhaps I would also have it built into the island. Thank you in advance.
