Re: Dishwasher recommdations

Whirlpool ... very quiet, very efficient using Finish products.  I've had it for seven years with no maintenance problems.

I agree with Kitchenaid or Bosch, but if you need a less expensive model, the GE Profile is pretty good..

Ok, scratch the less expensive on the GE Profile. Mine is several years old. The stainless steel one is now $1200!  Geez. Top rated though when I googled it to check the price. I was curious about the cost now but mine has performed top notch.

General Electric is selling its appliance division to Electrolux.  Just another example of how it's hard to keep track of which company makes many of the products we buy.

I, too, love my Bosch...so quiet, and it gets things do clean..

only thing i have have a problem with is that the bottom rack comes off the "track" quite easily, both when it is loaded and even when it is empty...anyone else have that problem? And did you solve it?

Re: Dishwasher recommdations

I do not recommend any LG appliance – not because of the actual item, but because there are hardly any service people for LG products, so the wait for a broken appliance is a week or more. I have the LG washer & dryer, with a 5 year extended warranty through Best Buy. The dryer drum started thumping loudly (like there was a pair of sneakers in the dryer). It apparently has something to do with the rollers that turn the drum. Well, Best Buy said it would be over 2 weeks before they could get an LG trained service person out so they turned me over to one of the two LG sub-contractors in the area (I live in a major metro area and there are only 2 to service the entire area). It has been over a week and neither is able to help me yet and cannot tell me when they will be available. Terrible service! When I talked with the subcontractor on the phone he just said that is the way it is with LG – very few repair technicians. I would never buy LG again based on the poor service factor.

I have a Bosch dishwasher and while it is fairly quiet and washes the dishes OK, I was surprised and disappointed that there is no heated dry cycle on my machine. If I had known that fact I would never have purchased it – I just feel the dishes are cleaner with that extra heated sanitation cycle. Prior to this purchase I had never heard of a dishwasher that did not have a heated dry cycle so it was not a direct question I asked, and no one told me this was a new “green” approach. If that feature is important to you, ask before you buy. Mine also has a problem with the bottom rack staying on track and I have a spot on the stainless steel inner door that has rust – and it is not that old. I would not buy Bosch again.
