Dishwasher Problem -- UPDATE

[ Edited ]

I wanted to give you an update about my dishwasher issue.  (There was a white film ingrained in spoons -- some other utensils -- some glassware and plastic.)  First -- thanks again for all the replies.  Many of you were on the exact right track.  I called the repairman we always use and he said that he has been getting a lot of calls from people in our area who had never had this problem before and that the water has changed.  He suggested using Finish Quantum -- which had been suggested on the forum.  Before doing that I used Lemi Shine to clean the dishwasher.  Then I started using the Finish Quantum and -- problem solved!!  Thanks again!!

@judy0330  Glad it was an easy fix.

Curious how has your water changed without the Water Dept. making it public? What is being added or being done differently to the water treatment?

@BirkiLady  I don't know.   It was on my to do list to call the water company but after solving the problem I never got around to it.  I did ask several neighbors if they had noticed a difference and they had -- mostly in rinsing shampoo out of their hair -- which I noticed too.

Seasonal changes affect water, too.  I have an aquarium so it's very apparent to me and my little pets.

Depending on it's source, bodies of water undergo an "inversion" with temperature changes, which in turn changes water quality.
