I need something to clean the bottoms of my old Cook's Essential pans and saw this product presented on ITK with Mary.  The reviews are mixed, and I was wondering if anyone has ordered and your thoughts on whether or not it works…Thanks in Advance!

My thoughts are that you stand a better chance of being satisfied if you are starting out with brand new cookware and this product to clean the outside surface after each use.

If you are buying this product to clean the very used cookware you already have, you will likely be disappointed in its performance.   None of the products I have ordered like this have cleaned any of the old stuff off my cookware.

Thank you @RedTop when I saw the demonstration the vendor cleaned an old pan and it took all of the scum off the bottom...I have new cast iron cookware but really like my old CE non-stick pans...too bad Cook's Essentials does not make the same quality pots and pans as they use to.

Last Friday I picked up some Barkeepers Friend Multipurpose Cleanser at Bed Bath and Beyond to use on my old set of Cooks Essentials.  Tried it out and it really worked!  Of course, it did take some elbow grease, but it really salvaged some pots and pans that I was thinking of replacing.  I knew Barkeepers Friend made glass cleaner, but wasn’t aware of the multipurpose cleaner.

I have Stainless Steel pots and pans and some SS with copper bottoms.  I got them when I got married more than 45 years ago.  I use them often.  I also have a few pieces of my Mother's SS pans.  They must be at least 55 years old.

All of my SS pieces are shiny and in excellent condition.  I used to hand wash them and use a powdered SS cleaner on them.  now I put them into the dishwasher and that really works well.  Even the ones with the copper bottoms look great.

I have anodized Steel from CE and some from Macy's and some that are Anolon....all work well, but are ugly.  They all turned black on the bottoms and it does not clean off. I think the color has permanently changed.  I have tried special cleaner made for these pans, but it didn't work.

My advise.  If you want nice, beautiful pots and pans...stick to stainless steel. It lasts forever, is easy care and will always make you proud to show it off.

PS I love Barkeepers Friend.  That stuff works great.

I use some stuff in a tube that says Cook's Essentials on it from years ago.

Thanks @Deb665 for the Barkeepers suggestion.  I am going to check Bed Bath and Beyond tomorrow and will give it a try!

@Carmie  Thanks....these are stainless steel pots that I have had for over 15 years and are still doing great but I need something to clean the bottoms.  I will try the Barkeepers!

Thanks @AuntG I attempted to use baking soda and white vinegar and it helped a little...I wonder if the cook's essentials cleaning solution was something similar.

@GAQShopr53  I use Barkeepers Friend and I like it.  I also buy a product called Cameo aluminum and stainless steel cleaner when I can find it.  It's available in my grocery store, but always sells out. That stuff is awesome.  Cleans SS sinks too.

They  also have a product for copper.
