Now that we are retired we are on the 'early bird' schedule.  We watch 'The Five' on Fox and eat our dinner at the same time.

Growing up, dinner was around 7 p.m.  Dinner guests arrived ar 7, meal served closer to 8.  After my retirement, dined around same time, later during daylight saving time. Now that I'm old, I seem to skip luinch and eat early, around 5, but then I'm starved later and have to eat again at 11 p.m. The late night meal is a smaller meal, bigger than a snack, smaller than dinner. ( I really need to eat dinner later so I could cut out the late night meal.)

Growing up, we always ate at 6:30.  Now it's sometime between 7 and 8.

Dinner is at 8:00 and I take my time with eating.  Keeps the snacking later at night before bedtime under control.

it really depends on activities and work.....and school for my children.

i try to have it ready between 6 and 7.

if i am with my s/o, he likes to eat around 9 or so......which i think is a bit late, but i go with his preferences.

if we are going out i usually make our reservations for 7:30 or 8pm......which means it can be close to 9pm sometimes before we are served dinner.

For years we had a retail business and dinner was never until nine or later.  I swore when we sold that I WOULD NOT cook late ever again.  Here we are twelve years later and it's the one thing I stand strong on.  We usually eat around seven and if dh isn't around until after eight, I will not cook!

Growing up dinner was at 4pm as my dad's shift ended at 3:30.  I am still an early bird both waking up in the morning and then eating throughout the day so those early bird specials totally work for me . . . Smiley Happy
