Re: Diners,Drive-Ins, and Dives: Dirty Restaurant Kitchens

LOL!  I think there might be some truth to that but I don't want to test it out.

My brother lives in CM. My mom is obsessed with the lobster place but I like trying new places. Please do let me know if the restaurant with the fingernails. I won’t try that one.

Don’t know all the details of Celiac Disease....but would Italian-style veggies with their red sauce and meatballs be okay on the diet you need to follow?

Don’t know if they have gluten-free pasta...their menu on line might give you some better ideas.

I hope they have good pizza in heaven for me !

Re: Diners,Drive-Ins, and Dives: Dirty Restaurant Kitchens

Years ago, I saw a guy on a talk show whose goal was to make folks aware of the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of restaurant kitchens. He said you should leave a restaurant if their restrooms aren’t clean. His rationale was that they didn’t have to let you inside their kitchens, but they couldn’t restrict your access to the restrooms. If they couldn’t be bothered to keep the restrooms clean, when they knew you’d likely use them, you could bet they aren’t worried about kitchen cleanliness. I don’t think you can rely solely on municipal health inspectors to ensure restaurant cleanliness. Many are probably understaffed and doing the best they can under difficult circumstances.

Re: Diners,Drive-Ins, and Dives: Dirty Restaurant Kitchens

We once ate at a local restaurant where I had a clear shot of the kitchen through the open door.  There was a huge bowl of chicken parts sitting there during our entire visit.  It was obvious they just sat there until thrown in the fryer.  It was our last visit there.
