Difficult to remove lids from Ninja 1200; HELP!!!!

I just received it today, and remembered that someone somewhere had mentioned that removing the lids the very first time was difficult...and they are right about that!!!

I tried to look up the item reviews but there are none, as the item no longer exists on QVC's website.

So any help getting these lids off without breaking them would be awesome!!!
